Why Buying From An Independent Broadband Broker Works

When a company decides it needs to have high speed lines for data, voice, or both, they have two choices. They can either deal directly with a carrier and their sales staff, or deal with an independent business broadband broker. Which is the best choice?

Well, you have good and bad reasons, but in the recent years, independent business broadband brokers have been getting more and more of the telecom business. There are several factors for this. One of the main reasons is that an independent broadband broker, like an insurance broker, represents more than one carrier. This is a bonus to the customers because the independent broadband brokers have a plateful of choices, which allows them to offer lower prices and other incentives to compete.

The big carriers as a whole are more than happy to do this for two reasons. One, because they can eliminate sales staff and expensive office space as overhead to their bottom line and two, they normally bring in more customers overall than on staff sales because brokers can usually afford lower profit margins. By giving better pricing, the independent business broadband brokers can give the customer more to choose from.

A good reason to deal with an independent business broadband broker is that they don't have incentive, or need to sell you more than you need or want just to pad their commissions. Because they deal with many carriers, they get their commissions through whichever carrier the customer picks. They have the patience to show several carrier deals to the customer and work with the best deal they can give, often able to haggle with the carriers for better pricing or more services for the price.

Another good reason is that they take better care of their customers, even after the sale is complete. With big carrier sales teams, you may never see the salesperson again, or only see them if it's contract renewal time. Most independents will check up on the customer to see how the installation process went, how the product is working over the time and if the customer is having problems, they are right there to help them deal with the carrier and get over any hurdles they may have if needed.

As the carriers keep cutting costs to get their bottom line looking good, independent broadband brokers are becoming more of a plus for the carriers. Since the sales staff are employees, they normally have no empathy for the businesses they are trying to sell to. It just more commission to them. An independent business broadband broker is in business on their own, so they go through the same issues and needs these other businesses go through, and will work much harder at getting what the customer needs and can afford.

Even with that, there are still companies that will only deal with the well established carriers. In the end though, the customer will best decide their own needs and wants, which independent business broadband brokers know and respect. As time marches on, the independent broadband brokers are gaining more and more respect throughout the business world, which translates to more and more sales. The carriers know this, and are becoming more acommodating to them.
